Who We Are

 

We’re three board-certified emergency docs who continue to work clinically. We’ve been bloodied by burnout, buried under charts, worn thin by the constant pressure to do more with less, just like you—and we came out the other side.

 

We call ourselves burnout survivors not because we have it all figured out, but because we’ve lived it. We know the 3 a.m. dread. We know what it’s like to smile at patients while secretly wondering if you can keep doing this job another year (or even another week).

 

Here’s what we discovered: burnout isn’t just about brutal workloads, endless charting, or “that patient” who makes you want to pull your hair out. A huge part of the weight comes from the way we talk to ourselves, the impossible expectations we carry, and the stories we’ve been handed about what it means to be a “good doctor.”

 

And the best news? There’s so much you can do to feel better—without quitting medicine, blowing up your life, or running off to start a goat farm in Montana. (Unless you want to. In which case, we’ll support that too.)
